A LOCAL AND SOCIAL HISTORY
OF THE MINING VILLAGE OF MOORENDS
Spring 2008, Moorends is a village in South Yorkshire, just north of Doncaster, were a small group of local people spent around eighteen months meeting in the local library sharing the task of putting Moorends ‘on the map’.
They all enjoyed the meetings, exchanging information with everyone having their own story to tell. People that live or have lived in Moorends were visited gleaning their minds for memories of forgotten places and lifestyle.
We hope that the readers of this website and hopefully the book that we would like to publish, enjoy looking back to bygone days as much as we have enjoyed the collecting and collating of all the information.
